I have been cheated with absolute impunity by Patra packer and movers ( Visakhapatnam).
I got transferred from Vizag to Mumbai on 08 Sep 18. My luggage of 38 items was held with Patra Packers in his godown for a period of 3 months and it was agreed that the luggage will be transported once a house is alloted in Mumbai.
In the first week December I informed Mr Patra and then my luggage was transported, which I received on 09 Dec 18.
Out of 38 items, only 35 were identified by the labour and brought up to my 5th floor house.
03 could not be identified by them. So I went down to the truck and found 03 cartons matching my boxes. I opened them to be sure and found that they were mine only.
All boxes had been accounted.
Upon complete unpacking I found stuff missing:-
Laptop
PS4 with CDs
Bose speaker
Router
Hand Blender
Bose tool box with hand drill
Hand bags(ladies).
The same was intimated to Mr Patra,
Initially he was coperative but slowly he became unresponsive, sighting bad health.
Finally had a heated discussion with him on 2 Jan 19 (He never called back, I had to call him).
He instead of cooperating brought out:-
I should have checked my luggage upon receipt.
How come I don't remember in which box did I place my PS4 and certain things which indicated to me that he is denying all responsibility.
I will file a complaint with the police and take it up in the right consumer forum. In the mean time I write this so as to inform the Naval freternity about the incident so as to make an informed decision.
Humbly requested to share,specially is Vizag circle. Any inputs w.r.t to way ahead are more than welcome.
* All my luggage was in packed and sealed condition. Someone had opened and then again packed it.
* More than the monetary loss, it is the attitude of Mr Patra which has unnerved me.
He was trying to push the blame on me, even suggesting that I may be making all this up.

I request all naval personnel not to approach this transporter and lose your valuable items and peace of mind. It must be de-registered immediately. | |

One of the worst transporter i have ever come across. He charged me money for half of the truck and loaded house hold items of 04 persons and also charged them separately. No bills provided for transportation of goods. No insurance. Items were not delivered at the delivery address at delhi and i was forced to pick them up in early morning from 1-2km distance of delivery address at my own expenditure. 01 of my cartoon box was also missing and never delivered. Transporter claimed no responsibility for lost item and least bothered to trace it out. Most of the boxes were found damaged. He, his loading unloading party and all are money eaters only. Please don't get cheated. | |
